CURRICULUM VITAE

I was born on August 6, 1931 in Brno, then Czechoslovakia. My father was a physician. After finishing higher school, I started in 1950 to study chemical engineering on the civilian college, but after a year the school was transformed into Military Technical Academy and I was forced to continue my studies on it as an officer. I finished my studies in 1955.

In years 1955 till 1974 I worked for government in a military research institute as a research scientist. From 1969 till 1973 I was appointed as a lecturer on the Military Technical College, Cairo, Egypt.

In 1974 I was discharged from from the army for political reasons. I worked then as a specialist for patents in the Research Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Brno till 1991, when I retired. I coauthored there about 30 patents and besides professional duties I studied scientometrics and mathematics which led to more original publications. In the list of publications only English ones are given.

Now, I cooperate with a patent office kaniapat@brno.anet.cz (see my photo on their page) and I try to publish a book "Matrix Combinatorics and Algebra" wich can you find on this page, and I prepare further mathematical publications.

I am maried and I have two adult children.
